It was during a visit to Mallorca in the 1990s that the qualified pharmacist, Professor Dr. Michael Popp, saw this existentially threatened, but very romantic winery in the Tramuntana mountains. With commitment, passion and initiative, he rebuilt the existing agricultural building into an exclusive winery with modern winemaking technology. The entire property covers an area of about 16 ha, which is largely divided by 500-year-old dry stone walls.
The terraces and dry stone walls have been painstakingly re-cultivated so that 5.5 ha of terraces could be planted with precious vines.
The Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain range in north-west of Mallorca. It covers an area of 1067 square km and extends to a length of more than 90 kilometers. The highest point is 1445 meters, the Puig Major. At the northwest slope of the mountains there are steep and rocky coastal areas with small coves and rocky beaches.
